What is needed to qualify for financial aid?

There are many different factors that are considered when evaluating a student’s eligibility for Financial Aid. As a general rule, the following are minimum requirements for aid:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Be enrolled at an eligible institution and in a program that leads to a degree
- Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress
- Have a valid Social Security number
- Have financial need.
