The Seed Library collection of the Pellissippi State Libraries offers library patrons access to a selection of organic and heirloom seeds, with the goal of promoting healthy nutrition and sustainable gardening practices. Funding for the seed library has been provided by the Pellissippi Foundation.
- Each campus has its own Seed Library:
- At Hardin Valley, the main seed collection is on the 3rd floor of the ERC (ER327). There is a smaller assortment of seeds on the first floor of the ERC (ER143).
- At the Blount, Magnolia Avenue, and Strawberry Plains campuses, find seeds in the main library space and check them out at the service desk.
- Seed types offered through the collection include vegetable, fruit, herb and flower seeds.
- Checkout limits are set to 10 packets at a time for students, staff and faculty, and 5 packets at a time for community members and visitors.
- Leftover seeds do not need to be returned, though we will accept returns of seeds in their original packets.
