In some of our databases and OneSearch Advanced Search, you will see multiple search bars. You can effectively use them by: 

  • adding synonyms with or between them (ex. college students or university students or undergraduates) 

  • using the left pulldown to change AND to NOT and put words you don't want to see in the results (ex. marriage satisfaction NOT health) 

  • find keywords in specific places by changing Select a Field pulldown (ex. Author field: Satis Keyword: mother... this would find articles written by Satis on mothers)
