Virtual reality (VR) is a 3D, computer-generated environment that you can experience with the right equipment. While immersed in this reality, you can look in any direction, manipulate objects, and even “travel” through virtual space.

Augmented reality (AR), on the other hand, superimposes digital features on top of the real world. Some examples of this might be a digital chess board or animated characters (like “Pokemon Go”) in the physical space around you.
